MEANWHILE, IN ORANGE COUNTY

The two Allen's Hummingbirds are getting bigger everyday and pretty soon that nest might just burst at the seams. I sure hope Mom made a super strong nest.

BORNHEIM NEST HAS THEIR FIRST EGG

Finally, after a few weeks of 4 storks vying for the nest, a pair finally settled in and now have one egg.

I am perplexed at her laid back attitude towards the egg. She doesn't seem too worried about incubating it, does she?

NEW NESTS

On a small, bare rock outcrop, 90 meters up in the Eifel Mountains in Germany, you can see the beautiful and mysterious Eurasian Eagle Owl.

"Torenvalk" or Common Kestrel - this couple resides in the Netherlands.

HANGING OUT WITH MOM

The best way to stay warm is to cosy up to a fluffy sibling. :)

Wow! I can actually see 3 individual owlets.

AND THE LAYING CONTINUES

Frida now has 6 eggs!

A LITTLE BIT OF LOVING AND SOME ATTITUDE TO BOOT

Doesn't it look like she is ticked off with her significant other?

Here's where the loving comes in.

WHO ARE YOU?

Mom's a bit curious tonight.

Faces that make you want to say, "Awwwwww!" These precious fluffs are Great Horned Owls and they hatched about 2 weeks ago. They reside in Boulder, Colorado.

She looks like she is giving them a lecture on the fine etiquette of eating rodents.

I wouldn't want to mess with this mom, would you? ;)

HATCHING CONTINUES

Life is going to get a lot more hectic for the Barn Owls in Texas. Another egg has hatched. It will be interesting to see if all 8 eggs hatch.

MOM, WE'RE HUNGRY AGAIN!

OWLS & HUMMERS

Aren't they cute? These two are Little Owls (yes that is their real name) and their nestbox is in the Netherlands. Check out the piercing look in the second picture!

Our fluffy California owlets continue to grow - you can actually see an individual owlet here. I wonder where the other two are?

Frida now has 4 eggs!

Big news on the Texas front - the first egg has hatched!

Our little hummingbirds continue to keep their mom quite busy.

FLUFFY OWLETS

We have 3 Great Horned owlets - still a fluffy "blob" as you can see. As they get bigger, we will be able to see the individuals. ;)

FINALLY FRIDA DELIVERS!

Frida finally laid an egg! Frida and Diego are a good month behind the Texas owls....guess it is that laid back California attitude??

I love this shot, it's priceless! She is looking at the egg as if to say, "Where the heck did you come from?"

BIRDING IN NORWAY

Sea Eagles aka White-tailed Eagles!! I just found this nest via a website I frequent. How cool are these eagles? And they are coming into my living room all the way from Sunnmore, Norway!! :)

As with all homes, tidying up is always necessary.

I KNOW HER SECRET

Now I know why Mama Great Horned Owl looks so smug.

She has 2 owlets! I know it looks like one big blob, but trust me, there are two - I saw them move. :)

BACK IN BENICIA, WE'RE STILL WAITING

Waiting and wondering where Frida's eggs are??
