HUMMINGBIRDS UPDATE

Black Chinned Hummingbird, Trabuco Canyon, CA, USA - It is nice to see the two little heads poking out of the nest now. A few days back, you wouldn't even know there were chicks in this nest! Many cam watchers were concerned and e-mailed the sanctuary to check if the chicks were okay. It turned out that Mom was off the nest for long periods of time looking for food, and since you couldn't see any beaks poking up, it looked like the nest was empty.

I caught one of the chicks giving his wings a test today. :)

Allen's Hummingbird, Orange Country, CA, USA - Our cute little hummer in Orange County is about 3 weeks old now. It won't be long until it is buzzing around the backyard with Mom.
