A WHOLE LOT OF FLAPPING GOING ON

As all nestlings get older, they exercise their wings in preparation for fledging. Flapping their wings allows the young birds to develop muscle strength, flight coordination and landing ability.

There has been a lot of wing action lately as the nestlings get closer to fledging.

Eurasian Eagle Owl, Eifel Mountains, Germany

Red-shouldered Hawk, Starr Ranch, California

Bonelli's Eagle, Spain

Barn Owl, Italy, Texas

Check out the wing span on the owls!
