BONELLI'S EAGLE

A new nest! A new bird for me! This new nest is in Parc del Garraf near Barcelona in Spain and it is another raptor - a Bonelli's Eagle!

Many species of eagles lay two eggs, but the older, larger chick frequently kills its younger sibling once it has hatched. I am presuming that this is the case in this nest as well, as their is only one chick.

Mom & chick hanging out - don't think I want to know what that red thing is behind baby!!

"Flying" solo (so to speak).

Protective Mom!
